Large Set- 92 Pcs Wm. Rogers JUBILEE Flatware- 1953 Picture(s) and Description:
This is a large set of vintage silver plate (silverplate?) flatware -- 92 matching pieces in all - and full service for 13 - including the hand-made, tarnish-reducing, all-wooden storage chest. The set contains the following: 26 teaspoons, each 6?" long 20 dinner knives with hollow handles & stainless steel blades, each 9?" long 15 salad/pastry forks, each 6¾" long 15 tablespoons or place spoons each 7?" long 13 dinner forks, each 7?" long 1 sugar spoon, 5?" long 1 master butter knife, 6?" long 1 buffet (cold meat) serving fork, 8?" long The pattern is called JUBILEE; it was manufactured by WM. ROGERS MFG. CO. AA - I.S. (INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY) and it dates back to 1953. This is a very collectible set, according to my silverware book. It's really lovely, with a beautiful raised floral and petaled pattern on the end of each handle (see close-up photos below). I polished the set myself, and it shines brilliantly. And best of all - the set is in GREAT CONDITION with NO silver loss, NO worn spots, NO pitting, and absolutely NO heel marks. The vintage silver shine on this is awesome! NOTE: In the photos below, the lines and dark spots on the flatware are actually NOT on the flatware. What you're seeing is the reflection of a telephone pole cable high above my patio, as well as shadows of tree branches and windows and houses and cloud formations from the early afternoon Michigan summer sun.
