(Be sure to scroll down past the photos for the full description of this auction) Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a very fine Early Victorian Period American Silver Plate Soup Tureen. The Tureen is beautifully decorated with amazing Repousse designs throughout, honestly much nicer than my photos show. The Tureen also a shows a nice Original Family Armorial or Crest on the front. The Tureen is completely unmarked as to maker, which was common during the earlier Victorian times and judging by the quality they were a very fine period maker. The Tureen is in fine all original condition, the inside shows scratches etc from use, but this would never been seen anyway and the outside is in great condition for the age, as the photos show it displays beautifully, just the lid needs a slight adjustment to sit completely flat. The Tureen is HUGE and a nice size for use and display, measuring approx 15" long by 10" tall and will hold approx 28 cups, which would be enough for 25-30 people as a main course or 40-50 as an appetizer. We are also including the beautiful Victorian Ladle that came with it from the estate, measuring 13-3/4" long and it is in excellent condition.
