BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PAIRPOINT Silverplate? Cherub Display/Pedestal Piece This is an absolutely Beautiful Pairpoint Cherub with Chains display or pedestal piece. Bottom mark is a "P" in a diamond with each corner marked (believe those are how to determine exact date and origin/artist) Also engraved Pairpoint, C5563 BEST PLATE and has another engraved number of G7154. Looks to also be Artist engraved signature on top of base. This Rare Piece was part of the Original Vintage Pairpoint "best board" or "fine art" line. Very good condition. There is some wear at the top of the base and one of the chain links needs to be reconnected (easy fix) Heavy - weighs 3.3 lbs. so please understand shipping. THE PAIRPOINT CORPORATION - New Bedford MA was organized in 1880 as Pairpoint Mfg. Co. and ceased production in 1958. Measures 7" x 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" On Jun-26-12 at 09:46:19 PDT, seller added the following information: While admiring this piece, I found that it has several additional marks that I was unable to include in photos - one looks to be the Edward Pairpoint Silversmith Mark - which dates the piece much earlier than the 1920's - likely 1850's - 1880s and several others. Listed above says Pairpoint started in 1880 - however, think Edward Pairpoint started mid 1800's. Thought I should include this information and some additional photos - do not think I captured the real beauty of this in first photos. Thank you for viewing!
