The Tureens are the finest authentic Period examples I have ever sold, featuring amazing Claw feet and boldly designed handles. The Tureens also show a superb Family Armorial Crest on each of a Winged Dragon atop a Crown, well worth looking into and trying to determine which family actually originally owned them. The Tureens are in really amazing condition for their great age, it is hard to tell, but I don't believe they have ever been re-plated and are in all original condition showing no copper bloom, dents, cracks or repairs. The tureens are also a great size for use or display, measuring 8-1/2" long by 5-1/4" wide and sitting 6" tall to the top of the handles. I don't believe you will find a better all original matching pair of Georgian Period, Old Sheffield Plate tureens come up for auction any time soon, especially selling with no reserve !
